Early Start Math Tutor

June - September 2019 • San Bernardino, CA

What I liked

What I liked about my job is developing my interpersonal skill. I’m still in the process of figuring out my identity and this experience allows me to see a lot of my weaknesses and problems and things I desperately need to work on myself. Such as communication with others, how to handled pressure public speaking, listening to students rather than just hearing what they says.

What I wish was different

I wish I would know about this program much earlier. Because there's so much I can learn from it.

Advice

Come in there with an open mind to learn about yourself. If I were to go in there and only tutor for the money, $13.50/h is not a worth while investment of my time. However, the experience of what's it like to be in charge of a class and coming up front of 30-50 students and presenting the materials. Constantly learning and improving myself to be a better presenter and tutor everyday is an incredible investment I made on myself and I'm really thankful for this opportunity.
