The UVA Internship Placement Program (IPP) - Spring 2026 application is open. The application deadline is Sunday, October 26th; 11:59pm.

The IPP team uses information provided in the application and interview process to match you with a customized internship placement based on the best opportunities for your interests, skills, and goals. IPP is a great option for students exploring career paths and functional roles who are open to gaining experience from a wide-range of industries and from professionals who are dedicated mentors and supervisors.
As a placement program, while every consideration will be given to your internship site preferences, specific IPP placements cannot be guaranteed due to student demand, selectivity, and/or specific requirements of some internship sites.

Eligibility
- 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year undergraduate student enrolled full-time at UVA
- Good academic standing; Overall GPA > 3.0
- Clear disciplinary record
- Meet the health, age, academic, security, and/or related internship criteria of the sponsoring organization
- Ability to complete an internship reflection course in Spring 2026: UNST 3910: Self & Organizations, UNST 3920: Teams, Leadership, and Organizations, or HIST 3910: History Internship Reflection
- Meet program internship hour requirements (10 hours/weekly from Monday, January 12th - Tuesday, April 28th)

Application Process
- Review Internships: Search available internships in Handshake under IPP: in Jobs or using the IPP Spring 2026 Internship List. Link to full internship descriptions included in Handshake Job Link column. We recommend you save the position descriptions. When the application closes, you will be unable to re-review the descriptions in Handshake
- Prep Application Materials: Refresh your resume and secure an unofficial copy of your transcript.
- Submit Resume and Transcript via Handshake: Under Jobs in Handshake, search for "UVA Internship Placement Program (IPP) - Spring 2026 Application" to submit your resume and transcript
- Complete Application Questions via Qualtrics: Submit your application via the "IPP Spring 2026 Student Application" in Qualtrics.
- Conduct an IPP Interview: Schedule a follow-up virtual interview with an IPP team member via Handshake. Plan accordingly, interview slots fill quickly. Interview slots are not guaranteed which is why it's important to apply early. Slots are opened on a weekly basis each Monday by noon.
