Residential Assitant Tech

What I liked

I really like that my job had a lot of meaning. I worked with boys ages 13-18 who had processing deficiencies who learned how to reintegrate from a residential treatment setting back to a real-world house setting.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more specific training and organization from my specific unit. I got training from the company in general, but was left with a lot of questions about what to do in my area of work within the company, as it is a bit different than the main residential treatment center that is a part of Telos.

Advice

Be proactive and be personable. You will do much better at this job if you take initiative in learning your responsibilities as well as learning about the boys that you are working with.

What I liked

I love the staff I work with. You're obviously not making a ton of money, but the people who work there aren't doing it for the money. I really feel like they're there because it's something that they're passionate about and it's their way of making the world a better place.

What I wish was different

I wish I hadn't worked two jobs. I worked here and I also worked at doTERRA and I ended up working like 80 hours most weeks which was really hard and I was always tired. I wish I would've taken more time to spend with friends.

Advice

Don't forget to take breaks! One of the most important things I got away from this job was that we also need time to relax and compose ourselves so don't forget to do that ok.
