The freedom to do my homework and use my time as I wish when free time is available.

What I wish was different

Training that has been promised since my hire date a year ago has not been provided. Additionally, tasks that needed to be completed by me and my fellow employees were continually not able to be done due failures in management.

Advice

Take summer online courses if you plan to work here over the summer. Even if you think you won't get bored working 30 hours a week with nothing to do, you will.

You need to be comfortable camping for long periods of time and working in difficult conditions.

I enjoy the opportunity to work within the field I'm studying in and the ability to grow personally and professionally.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more direct communication with my supervisor and direction on what I should have been working on day to data. I was switched to working from home during the summer due to COVID-19 and there wasn't a lot of communication during that time.

I would say that everyone should intern in the kind of place they are thinking about working in. It will give them an idea of what their future will actually be like. School will only show you so much.
