Commercial Real Estate Lending Intern

What I liked

During my internship, I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience reviewing loan files for the Pre-Closing Department. It was fascinating to learn about the many components involved in putting together and seeing through a commercial mortgage loan. I got the opportunity to meet people in various departments which helped me gain more of an understanding of the business of lending.

What I liked

Very organized, people were extremely nice and easygoing and outgoing which made experience a great one

What I wish was different

I was part time so I was limited to 25 hours a week which is 3 days of the week instead of 5 so I wish it was full time so I could've worked 5 days a week

Advice

Work hard, always have a smile on your face but also be serious. Don't look grumpy or in a bad mood and stay away from your phone when you're around other employers.

Post closing receiving intern

What I liked

we got to learn about different branches of the bank from coffee talks that we had each week. Each week a different branch would do a presentation about their job and the requirements it takes to do that job. They did volunteer work, and the internship program at Flagstar Bank was amazing.
