EI J-Term Internship: Green Fin Studio - Environmental Communications Internship
Please note: Students are eligible to apply to up to 2 of EI Internships. Internships are virtual with in-person work as an option for candidates that live close to the host site.
EI will fund students $800 to work approximately 50 hours between Jan 2, 2025 through Jan 10, 2025.
A one-page reflection is required upon completion of externship, as well as post-internship meeting with EI to share about your internship experience
Environmental Communications Internship Opportunity
Green Fin Studio provides marketing and communications for clients focused on positive environmental and social impacts. Our team combines subject matter expertise with technology, graphic design, crafted content and creative delivery to target messages and audiences. Based in Richmond, Virginia, we work throughout the U.S. and beyond, to help conservation, education, ecotourism & recreation, and research organizations develop and deliver compelling stories. Green Fin Studio’s work connects science and conservation to all levels of decision makers.
This internship will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience in developing effective environmental messages, storylines, and products. The intern will gain insight into the full spectrum of environmental marketing and communications, including the strategy and psychology behind terminology, imagery, and delivery platforms.
Requirements include:
· Demonstrated interest and/or experience in communications related to environmental sciences, sustainability, or similar background;
· Excellent verbal and writing skills;
· Motivated self-starter with the ability to work and reason independently
and as part of a professional team;
· Marketing and advertising experience preferred but not necessary;
and
· Being dependable, engaged, and sincerely interested in learning new skills.
