Marketing Assistant (2 openings)

Employment Start/End Dates: No earlier than 8/22/2017 and no later than 5/11/2018

Position is up to 10 hours per week; flexible with class schedule.

Job Purpose

The Marketing Assistant position is responsible for promoting the Career Center and increasing student involvement with Career Center events. This job provides an excellent opportunity for students to get transferable experience with social media and marketing/communication strategies.

Duties

  • Assist with the strategy and implementation of marketing campaigns, including posting flyers, sidewalk chalking, social media promotion, etc.
  • Provide information to UVA students about opportunities within the Career Center
  • Increase Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram followers
  • Update monthly and annual analytic reports including Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter analytics, Instagram analytics, and email engagement
  • Attend occasional events (career fairs, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Outgoing and cheerful personality that enjoys conversing with UVA students
  • Must be able to communicate and maintain professional relationships effectively with team members
  • Fulfill scheduled tasks/projects in a timely manner
  • Maintain scheduled office hours and contribute up to 10 hours per week
  • Profound attention to detail
  • Must have problem-solving abilities using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
