Patient Transporter - Student
Performs a variety of routine non-direct patient care clinical office support and/or distribution functions within the assigned unit.
Provides support to the unit(s) which may include the following:
- Maintains Patient Safety.
- Pickup/Transport/Return of equipment to and from other units.
- Transport patients to and from units, using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds as mode of transport.
- Turnover of patient rooms/bays between patients.
- Equipment maintenance and safety checks are completed according to policy and procedure.
- Stock supplies accurately; assures products are placed in the correct bin location and rotated during restock.
- Inventory items are checked to verify that the items are not damaged or has expired.
- Assures that requested deliveries are taken to the correct location in a timely manner.
- Check supplies for expiration dates in department secondary storage locations.
- Assisting patient’s family at discharge with carrying items to the lobby/car.
- May provide donning/doffing coach support when necessary. Covers the desk role by managing phone calls and assisting with patient flow.
- Performs administrative support functions when necessary. Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: No experience required.
- Licensure: None required.
- Must be 18 years or older
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer use. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
